is a one book, one-community project started in Wayne County, N.C. in 2004. In addition to discussing each book’s literary merits, WCR provides free public programs such as lectures, exhibits, performances, films, discussions, demonstrations, contests and festivals that explore the themes and issues in the books.

About the 2018 Book Selection

This is the first of five collections of short stories written by Arthur Conan Doyle, featuring the most famous consulting detective, Sherlock Holmes. These 12 stories were originally published as serialized single stories in The Strand Magazine from July 1891 to June 1892.

The book can be borrowed from local Wayne County Public Library branches or purchased from the Wayne Community College Bookstore and Books-A-Million in Goldsboro.
