Every Child Ready To Read @ your library Program
The EVERY CHILD READY TO READ @ your library program (ECRR) seeks to enlist parents and teachers as partners in helping their two to five-year-olds get ready to learn how to read! This program, funded by the Partnership for Children of Wayne County, is delivered at home daycares, childcare centers and preschools throughout Wayne County. Each eight-week session includes provider and parent trainings on early literacy along with six 15 to 30-minute classroom story-time sessions. Our goal is to support the literacy efforts of early childhood educators by delivering a set of 30 children's books, literacy totes and supplemental activities and information right to the classroom. Parents are provided with weekly newsletters called a Story Stretchers that feature a different theme and literacy skill each week. Story Stretchers provide parents with a wealth of information including age-appropriate book lists and literacy activities.
