Anna's Book Blog
Hi, my name is Anna, and I’m the new Head of the Children’s Department. I grew up here in Goldsboro. I learned to love books and reading early in life thanks to my mom, who brought me to the library many times a week. I’m so excited to be working in the library I grew up with, and to be able to find the perfect book for you. Books allow us to learn so many things about the world and make our imaginations go wild! I’ll be sharing some of my favorite library books with you on this blog, so be sure to visit us to check them out!

Anne of Green Gables: A Graphic Novel adapted
by Mariah Marsden
Schoolyard rivalries. Baking disasters. Puffed sleeves.
The magic of L.M. Montgomery’s treasured classic is reimagined in a wonderfully illustrated graphic novel.
When Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert decide to adopt an orphan who can help manage their family farm, they have no idea what delightful trouble awaits them. With flame-red hair and an unstoppable imagination, 11-year-old Anne Shirley takes Green Gables by storm.
Anne’s misadventures bring a little romance to the lives of everyone she meets: her bosom friend, Diana Barry; the town gossip, Mrs. Lynde; and that infuriating tease, Gilbert Blythe. From triumphs and thrills to the depths of despair, Anne turns each everyday moment into something extraordinary.
Anne of Green Gables is my VERY FAVORITE book series. In fact, I am rereading the series right now! If you've ever wanted to daydream, to make up chilling stories with your friends, or hated when someone compared your red hair to "carrots!!," you will love this story, and all the of the stories about Anne and her friends growing up on Prince Edward Island in Canada. Come talk to me about this book and these wonderful characters.
