Story Time Schedule

Children sit in a circle and listen intently as a librarian reads a story to them.
Story time programs are offered at all branches of the Wayne County Public Library for children ages 9 months - 5 years from September-May (The Summer Reading Program Schedule is available on the homepage slideshow for information on events during summer months). 

All of our story programs are an interactive activity consisting of music, crafts, dance, and games in addition to listening to age-appropriate stories. Story time is offered on the following schedule:

Goldsboro Library (August-May)


  • Baby and Me (ages 0 - 2): Wednesdays at 9:30 a.m.
  • Toddler Time (ages 2 - 3 years): Tuesdays at 9:30 a.m.
  • Pre-K Club (ages 4 - 5 years): Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m.
  • Bedtime Stories with Gammie Lil (all ages): Thursdays at 7 p.m.
  • Saturday Story Time (all ages): First Saturdays at 10 a.m.
  • STEMulating Story Time (5th grade and below): First Saturdays at 3 p.m.

Pikeville Library (September-May)


  • Story Time (up to age 4): Thursdays at 10:30 a.m.

Fremont Library (September-May)


  • Story Time (up to age 4): Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m.

Steele Memorial Library, Mount Olive (September-May)


  • Story Time (up to age 4)
        Wednesdays & Thursdays at 10:00 a.m.
